A guided tea tour for independent travellers.
Join us for a 4 hour tour and immerse yourself in a world of Japanese tea. Dive into local Nagasaki history, learn about the Sonogi tea region, visit the enchanting Sonogi tea fields overlooking Omura Bay, and most importantly: taste lots of Nagasaki teas!
You will have the unique opportunity to visit a tea factory and see the machines used to produce local green tea speciality: tamarokucha. You will also learn how to brew tamaryokucha and whisk up a bowl of matcha.
to taste a selection of the local tea specialties: including regional speciality tamaryokucha (a steamed curly green tea), shiraore (a mild tea twig tea), houjicha (roasted green tea), wakoucha (Japanese black tea) and more. Visit the enchanting tea fields with a view over Omura Bay, and understand how tea is made as we guide you through a tea factory. You will also learn a little about Japanese tea in general, and also dive into some local history connected to Nagasaki and the Sonogi tea region.

- 11:00~11:45 Welcome tea and an introduction to Japanese tea & Nagasaki tea region
- 11:45~13:00 Visit to the picturesque tea fields overlooking Omura Bay & visit to a tea factory
- 13:00~13:30 Lunch (please contact in advance for allergies or vegetarian/vegan options)
- 13:30~15:00 Interactive tasting of Nagasaki teas and some Japanese tea history

Booking steps
Booking through our online booking form is required at least a week in advance to reserve your place on the tour. (For last minute bookings: feel free to contact us directly for any availability)
- To book your place on the tea tour please select a date from the calendar below.
- After submitting the booking form you will be directed to a payment page. Please make the payment at the time of the booking.
- Your tour is reserved once the payment is confirmed (Stripe confirmation is regarded as the tour confirmation).
- If you have any dietary concerns, please contact us so we can discuss options.
- After booking: you should receive an email within 15 minutes. If it does not arrive in your inbox, please check your spam/junk mail folder first before contacting us.
Cancellation
- More than 14 days before the tour date: Full refund
- 14 – 7 days before the tour date: 80% refund
- 6 – 3 days before the tour date: 50% refund
- Less than 3 days before the tour date: No refund
- In case of a refund, we will refund you the amount after deducting Stripe’s Transfer and Booking Fees.
