On this day, we held a tea gathering at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum.

We had the pleasure of hosting the event alongside Mrs. Michie Shiozaki, an Omotesenke school tea master, and her group members. The venue was a traditional tea room located within the same building as the Atomic Bomb Museum.

On this particular day, the luxury cruise ship Diamond Princess was porting at Nagasaki Port, bringing many international tourists to the museum. Many of them also kindly stopped by our tea room.

The highlight of the event was a demonstration by Mrs. Shiozaki on how to whisk matcha. Before and after the demonstration, our guests also enjoyed tasting several varieties of local Sonogi tea.

This marks the second consecutive year we have hosted this tea gathering at the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum. For Nagasaki Ikedoki, it was a precious opportunity to put our mission, “share a peaceful moment through Japanese tea,” into concrete action.

As our daily activities have become increasingly busy, it has been challenging to organize events that align directly with our mission. However, we will continue to explore ways to host similar events again in the future in different forms.

We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Director Tsukada of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Museum, everyone at NBC Socia for their dedication to making this event possible, all the participants who attended, and the NBC news staff who came to cover the event. Thank you very much.
